Mardella Meadows Wedding

Olivia & Jack – Mardella Meadows Wedding

The day started at Olivia’s parents’ home, and straight away you could feel it wasn’t going to be a quiet one.

Full energy. Bridesmaids everywhere. Music, laughter, a bit of chaos in the best way. The kind of morning where nothing is really planned, but everything just works. Olivia right in the middle of it, taking it all in, not trying to control it, just letting it happen.

First Touch at the Chapel

We made our way to Mardella Meadows and slowed things down with a first touch at the chapel.

No big crowd. No pressure. Just the two of them.

Close enough to feel each other there without seeing. You could feel the shift straight away. Everything that was loud in the morning quietened down into something more focused. The nerves didn’t disappear, they just changed into something more grounded.

Those are the moments that set the tone for the rest of the day.

The Ceremony

The ceremony was conducted by Love By Larissa, and it didn’t take long before the emotion kicked in.

Olivia felt it straight away. Jack too.

As Olivia walked down the aisle with her dad, it all hit at once. You could see it in both of them. No hiding it, no trying to hold it together. Just real reactions, exactly as they came.

During the ceremony, there was a moment where Olivia reached up and touched Jack’s face. Quiet, simple, but it said everything. Those are the parts people don’t plan, and they’re always the ones that stay.

Then the confetti.

Big. Loud. Everywhere.

Guests didn’t hold back. It filled the air, covered everything, and for a few seconds you could barely see them. They were just walking through it laughing, completely in it. Those moments don’t last long, but they always feel bigger than they are.

Slowing It Down

After family photos, we hit pause.

It was pushing into the high 30’s, and the best thing you can do in that kind of heat is not fight it. Give people space. Let the day breathe.

We took Olivia and Jack out into the hay shed, just the two of them. No bridal party, no noise, no expectations. Just walking, talking, settling into the fact that they’d just got married.

That shift matters.

The photos feel different. Less energy, more connection. Nothing forced, nothing directed too much. Just letting them be where they are in that moment.

Then we brought the bridal party back in.

Different energy again.

Champagne going off, everyone yelling, moving, not really standing still long enough for anything structured. It’s one of those times where the best thing to do is step back and let it unfold. You don’t need to create anything, it’s already happening.

Golden Hour

This is where everything comes together.

Mardella opens up, and the light starts doing the work for you.

We headed out towards the paddocks as the sun dropped. Big sky, clean horizon, nothing distracting. The kind of space that gives everything room.

The clouds rolled across the sky, catching the last of the light, and that warm glow cut through just enough.

Olivia and Jack didn’t need much direction. They naturally moved into each other, talking, laughing, slowing down again. You could see the day catching up to them in a good way.

Then those quieter frames.

The veil coming over both of them, everything soft, almost still. It pulls everything in. No distractions, just the two of them in that space.

After that, we let them walk.

Across the field, past the hay bales, the sun dropping behind them. No posing, just movement. Those are always the frames that feel the most honest.

Around the Property

One of the things about Mardella is how much variety you get without going anywhere.

The hay shed gives that contrast, a bit more texture, something slightly rougher. Then you step back out into open space again and it’s clean, simple, wide.

Even just walking along the dirt tracks, nothing styled, nothing dressed up, it works. It suits the way the day actually feels instead of trying to turn it into something else.

The Reception

By the time the reception kicked in, the energy had built back up.

People were ready for it.

The room filled quickly, speeches hit, reactions everywhere, laughter, a few tears, all of it. Then the dance floor opened and that was it.

And one of the best personal touches of the night, the cake was made by Olivia herself. Something that could’ve just been another detail ended up meaning a bit more. It’s those things that people remember.

No hesitation.

They went straight into it, and everyone followed. The kind of dance floor where no one’s watching, everyone’s just in it. That’s always when it works best.

Why Mardella Meadows Works So Well

Mardella is one of those venues that doesn’t try too hard, and that’s exactly why it works.

Everything’s in one place. The chapel, the fields, the gardens, the barn. No travel, no pressure, no constant time checks. The day just moves naturally.

There’s space when you need it, but also enough structure that nothing feels lost.

From a photography side, it gives you options without forcing anything. Clean backgrounds, good light, and enough variety to keep things interesting without overcomplicating it.

And when golden hour hits, it really shows up.

The Feel of the Day

Olivia and Jack’s day had a bit of everything.

Energy in the morning. Real emotion in the ceremony. Space to slow down when it mattered. Then that lift again into the reception.

Nothing forced. Nothing overthought.

Just people, in it, as it happened.
