Danielle & Ashley’s Sandalford Wines Wedding | Swan Valley Wedding Photographer
Danielle and Ashley’s Sandalford Wines wedding in Swan Valley was everything you hope for in a late spring celebration — warm sunshine, blue skies, and a venue that never disappoints. As a Perth wedding photographer, Sandalford Winery remains one of my favourite wedding venues for its timeless elegance and vineyard backdrop.
The evening was held in the Estate Room with around 140 guests in attendance, their wedding was vibrant, emotional, and full of energy from start to finish.
Getting Ready in Perth – Bridal Party Energy

The day began with the groom and his four groomsmen getting ready, relaxed, fun, and filled with anticipation. These early moments always set the tone for the day.
From there, I made my way to Danielle and her four bridesmaids. Music was playing, dresses were being steamed, makeup artists were putting the final touches in place — that beautiful mix of nerves and excitement that makes wedding mornings so special. Hair Stylist was Callie Carr Hair while Mother and Bride did the flowers and styling.

With a large bridal party of eight, there was no shortage of laughter and movement — something I love capturing in a candid, natural way.
Wedding Ceremony at Sandalford Wines, Swan Valley
The ceremony at Sandalford Wines in Swan Valley was led by celebrant Catrina Main, who created a heartfelt and personal atmosphere. Surrounded by vineyards and their closest family and friends, Danielle and Ashley exchanged vows under perfect November skies.

Late spring in Perth truly showed off — warm without being overwhelming, with beautiful natural light that photographers dream of.

If you’re considering a Swan Valley wedding venue, Sandalford offers a stunning mix of vineyard views, heritage architecture, and elegant reception spaces that photograph beautifully at any time of day.

Reception at Sandalford Winery – Dancing the Night Away
The reception space came alive as guests settled in to celebrate. Envy DJ Curtis kept the dance floor full all night, bringing incredible energy to the room, while Golden Hour Films captured the movement and emotion of the day on video.

Working alongside talented wedding vendors always elevates the experience — and this team made the day seamless.
Shooting 35mm Film at a Sandalford Wines Wedding
This wedding was particularly special for me.
For the first time in about 25 years, I shot a roll of 35mm film at a wedding.
The day before Danielle and Ashley’s wedding, a 1960’s rangefinder camera arrived from Sydney. I had never used this camera before — no practice run, no test roll. Just excitement and a touch of nervous energy.
Alongside my digital cameras, I loaded a single roll of 35mm film and brought it to Sandalford Winery.

There’s something powerful about shooting film at a wedding. Every frame counts. You slow down. You compose more intentionally. You wait for the right moment instead of overshooting. It felt nostalgic and creatively refreshing — a reminder of why I fell in love with photography in the first place.
Film photography adds a timeless, organic quality that pairs beautifully with a venue like Sandalford Wines. It’s something I’ll be incorporating into many more Perth weddings in the future.
