Susan and Jer’s South of Perth Yacht Club wedding; as a wedding photographer I get to experience a lot of different cultures and unique weddings here in Perth, I find them very exciting to photograph.
Susan had already booked a wedding photographer but a had a few reservations about the photographer. So a friend of Susan’s pointed her to my work, she loved my photography and needed to book me instead.
The wedding day was planned around Chinese cultural traditions having two tea ceremonies in the morning. This meant I had an early start at 8am at the grooms house, then we went off to the first Chinese tea ceremony.
It was a very funny event with the groom and his groomsmen having to do all sorts of challenges and pass many tests so that Jer could go upstairs to see Susan. Some of the challenges involved drinking straight spirits and bowls of hot chilli on noodles, others were dancing routines that needed to be passed.
I captured so many great photos at the two tea ceremonies for them to remember the fun times they had at the tea ceremony.
After the second ceremony everyone had lunch that was put on at the brides parents house, with a delicious asian banquet.
Susan and Jer then departed to start getting ready for the wedding ceremony later that afternoon.
They had a first reveal at the location the Jer had proposed before we headed off to do some family photos and a few bridal photos in the city around the King Street Area.
They had the wedding ceremony on the South Perth foreshore with the city skyline as a back drop. Which was conducted by Kimberly McKerras from KM Celebrations
After the ceremony finished we went to the South of Perth Yacht Club where they were having the reception.
We did a few more photos around the area before the bridal party went to relax and practice the moves for the entry into the reception.
The reception was beautifully setup in the marquee they have at the venue, with around 190 guests it was very special.
I was with the couple capturing their wedding for 15 hours which is such along day but very rewarding being able to give the couple a gallery of photos that document their wedding day.
Wedding photographers put so much effort into what we do capturing cherished memories with photos that will last a lifetime. Something I recommend is to print lots of photos from the wedding and getting an album, which they ended up getting a wedding album to have memories of the day in print.
I can recommend South of Perth Yacht Club without any reservations it’s an amazing venue to host your wedding. If you are considering them please take the time to go and look at the venue.
After the wedding Susan and Jer were extremely happy with the photos I took at their wedding, they sent an email message after receiving them;
“These are absolutely amazing. Such beautiful memories captured and I can’t believe how fast they were ready. I can’t wait to share them and continue looking over them! Thank you SO much”
and also and leaving a glowing review on Easyweddings
Paul was amazing to work with from start to finish. He did a pre wedding shoot in the rain, happily stayed with us for a 15 hour day around Perth, gave us preview photos the next day and shared the most incredible, candid pictures with us just a few weeks later that captured every moment we wished to remember. He had quick communication, checked in with the details and felt like a friend on the day.
